Happy New Year–Arrest Stress with 12 Best Stress Arresters

Arrest stress
Arrest stress and lock it away for good

Stats for Stress, the Silent Killer

  • 83% of US workers suffer from work-related stress.
  • US businesses lose up to $300 billion yearly as a result of workplace stress.
  • Stress causes around one million workers to miss work every day.
  • Only 43% of US employees think their employers care about their work-life balance.
  • Depression leads to $51 billion in costs due to absenteeism and $26 billion in treatment costs.
  • Work-related stress causes 120,000 deaths and results in $190 billion in healthcare costs yearly.

The 12 Best Stress Arresters

Identify the Causes of Stress and develop possible strategies to deal with them. Get pastoral or other professional help if need be.

Get Physical Exercise. Swimming, biking, walking and things like these are all good stress arresters. Even singing aloud or shouting at a ball game can be helpful. If you don’t like ball games or don’t want to “Kill the umpire!” , try going for a drive all alone, rolling up the car windows and shouting or singing as loudly as you can!

I personally enjoy chopping wood for my exercise.

Practice Deep Breathing. When I was in the hospital and my lungs were filled with cancerous tumors, I could hardly breathe. A nurse taught me how to take in giant-sized breaths through my mouth and then expel the air ever-so-slowly through my nose. Repeat several times. It works. Try deep breathing and see how it relaxes you.

Just say “No!” The world is filled with overly busy people. One of the basic foundational truths of Hebrews 6:2 is repentance from dead works. Dead works are anything we do that is not from the Holy Spirit. Anybody filling your life with good works that are really dead works?

Stress results from pleasing people rather than pleasing God. For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ. (Galatians 1:10).

Get a Full night sleep

Forgive. Forgiveness is one of the all time great stress arresters. Don’t wait for people to ask you to forgive them. Just do it over and over and watch your nemeses change.

Receive Salvation through Christ

Pursue Freedom from guilt. Guilt produces stress. Floating guilt (feeling bad all the time as a result of not dealing with some specific sin) produces floating stress. Take time to do business with God or people. Get to the root of this and you’ll feel happier and better. Bill Gothard helped me to do this in his Basic Life Principles Seminar. Get help if you need it.

Move Forward. Forward motion in one area can lead to a relief of stress in many areas. One cause of stress is the sense of inability to control circumstances. Loss of control leads to frustration and tension. Move ahead in some area–build a bookcase, join a club or church, take a course, invest, take a vacation, do something by which you can move ahead and make more of your own decisions in some specific area.

Take a 24 Hour Break Every Week. Restore the Sabbath Principle. The necessity of “cooling it” once every 7 days is built into creation. Napoleon attempted to increase productivity by establishing a 10 day work week. The experiment failed and France had to return to the seven day work week. Even God rested on the seventh day! I’m not saying which day to take off, I’m simply saying take off one day per week. Establish the three R’s: Rest, Reflect, Rejuvenate. People who do become more productive.

Stress arrester number 12. Try to listen to the whispers of the Holy Spirit. He has promised to guide us. But when He, the Spirit of truth comes, He will guide you . . . (John 16:I3).

I have a tendency to overwork. Any workaholics out there like me? I personally need the Holy Spirit to prompt me to stop working.

The Scriptures link hearing (and obeying) God’s voice with rest: TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE,
DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS, AS WHEN THEY PROVOKED ME.

And to whom did He swear that they would not enter His rest, but to those who were disobedient? (Hebrews 3:15 and 18)

Rest and stress reduction result from doing what God says and doing it right away. For example, the other day I was working on our porch. By the Spirit I felt prompted to stop work and come inside. But I didn’t want to stop so I kept working. Later that evening, I realized I was emotionally and physically drained. I knew I had overworked and could not go on to do the things God really wanted me to do. I had to repent.

Here’s a closing tip about stress arresters. New habits don’t come overnight. They take time to develop. Oftentimes we can’t do it alone, so it helps to have some encouragement.

Habits are socially enforced. How to make a habit stick? Join a church or group that already has the habit.

Stress is a bigger problem than most realize. Let’s tackle it together. What is working for you? Write it in the comment box below

Forgiveness in Action

Forgiveness in Action

Forgiveness in Action–here’s one of the most dramatic examples I have ever seen or heard.

In fact, one veteran court reporter admitted he had never witnessed such an event in 40 years of covering courtroom drama.

In October, 2018, off-duty policewoman, Amber Guyger, 31, shot and killed an innocent man, Botham Jean, in what she thought was her own apartment. In October, 2019, Guyger was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the murder.

After Guyger was sentenced, Brandt Jean, the brother of the murdered man, embraced Guyger in the Dallas courtroom and said he forgives her.

Brandt Jean asked permission from the judge to give Guyger a hug. He went over to her and the two embraced. Jean told her he doesn’t want her to go to prison. “I love you as a person and I don’t want to wish anything bad on you,” Jean said before they hugged for nearly 30 seconds.

The power of forgiveness from the brother of the murdered man was so strong many in the courtroom were moved to tears. Including the judge, Tammy Kemp. Kemp rose from behind the bench, came down and talked with Guyger.

MSN reposted the ongoing scene of forgiveness in action:

After stepping off the bench to comfort the Jean family, the judge walked over to Guyger, still at the defense table. She bent low and spoke in the young woman’s ear. “You understand?” the judge said, barely audible.

The judge appeared to be overcome in the moment, and left the courtroom. She returned a moment later, a small Bible in her hand.
“You can have mine,” the judge said to Guyger. “I have three or four at home.”
She then began to counsel Guyger. The pair were talking low, barely audible, just the two of them. “This is your job,” the judge said, opening the book.

The judge mentioned John 3:16, saying this will strengthen her. Guyger nodded her head.
“You just need a tiny mustard seed of faith,” the judge said. “You start with this.”

Guyger embraced the judge, who hugged her back. Guyger whispered something.
“Ma’am,” the judge said warmly. “It’s not because I’m good. It’s because I believe in Christ.”
“You haven’t done so much that you can’t be forgiven,” the judge told her. “You did something bad in one moment in time. What you do now matters.”

The judge told Guyger that she could take the Bible with her as deputies prepared to escort her to the prisoner holding cell connected to the courtroom.

As Guyger left to begin her 10-year prison sentence, the judge let out a deep sigh, turned and left the courtroom.

I showed the video to the Church of the Living Water in Muscatine after this powerful demonstration of forgiveness. Such an impact. The whole church was cast into an awesome silence.

You can watch more of the power of forgiveness in action here.

How I Conquered Cancer

“What did you do to conquer cancer?”

To answer this question, I recently presented a workshop at Muscatine Community College in Muscatine, Iowa. The video of the 60 minute workshop (How I Conquered Cancer) plays below.

(Thanks to Chad Bishop for taping and uploading this video.)

Of course, I couldn’t tell everything in one workshop. So let me mention Ty Bollinger and his impressive video series.

I watched the video series by Ty Bollinger, “The Truth About Cancer.” That series gave me the confidence I needed to eventually go for natural healing.

There’s a replay airing October 5, 2019. It’s free.

Tune in to the live broadcast of many of the same doctors and scientists featured on “The Truth About Cancer.” It could save your life or the life of someone you love.

I had stage 4 inoperable cancer. I’m well today because of God’s mercy and the truths in this program. Tune in here for free starting October 5. You must register by copying this link:  https://ttaclive.tv?ref=132a244f-56dd-4476-b3fd-fc1862f3441f.

If you can’t wait until October, there’s another video series showing sooner. It’s by Chris Wark who was healed of stage 3 colon cancer without chemo, radiation or surgery.

I am not an affiliate, that is to say, I don’t collect any money from any of these projects. I make the info available to help people conquer cancer for themselves or their loved ones. At the very least, all these videos show that cancer is curable with natural treatments and many are doing it.

Here’s my story of how I conquered cancer in book form. Grab a copy now.

How I Conquered Cancer

“Half of all men (and one third of all women) alive today will get cancer,” experts claim. I want to stop that.

I want to do an educational and inspiring workshop in your church, club, college, or civic group. It’s “hands on” and could prevent or help heal cancer for anyone. Interested? Contact me from the link at the top of this page.

Freedom March: 200 Ex-LGBT Come Out

Publisher’s note: I have adapted this article from Janet Boynes of Janet Boynes Ministry. It is her personal report on the May 27 Freedom March: 200 ex LGBT people come out to proclaim their freedom in Christ.

FREEDOM MARCHED IN WASHINGTON

Millennials and Gen-Xers stood together, unified with a voice that declared freedom is possible through Christ.

The message is what so many need to hear but has been so quickly shunned. It lacks popularity but is packed with power.

Jeffrey McCall, the founder of the Freedom March, invited me to be a part of this historical event. Watching so many younger than I stand unashamed and passionate about their experience of walking out of the lifestyle of homosexuality into a life of freedom in Christ was a magnificent experience. This is an answer to prayer.

They stood together, each one with their own story of how Christ came into their heart and gave them a brand new life. These young people were vibrant and energetic.

It wasn’t a ‘gay to straight’ thing; It was a ‘lost to saved’ thing,” proclaimed one of the founders of the event.

Their enthusiasm was clearly visible as they shared their testimonies of coming out of darkness into the marvelous light of Christ. 1 Peter 2:9 says in the Message Bible, “But you are the ones chosen by God, chosen for the high calling of priestly work, chosen to be a holy people, God’s instruments to do his work and speak out for him, to tell others of the night-and-day difference he made for you-from nothing to something, from rejected to accepted.”

While they had no qualms in reminding me that I was part of the “older generation” and spoke of my “mothering heart,” I couldn’t help but to be amazed as I watched them speak boldly and with much assurance that it was only Jesus that have kept them and brought them to this point. They did not hesitate to let everyone know that change is possible, hope is tangible, and love is available.

This march represented so much more than just a group of people gathering to share their thoughts. This was a march in the capital of the United States, Washington, D.C. This was a true declaration that Jesus is not dormant or dead. Jesus is very much alive and able to change lives.

While the LGBTQ community has no hesitation in parading their doctrines and agendas before anyone, this Freedom March gave the ex-homosexual a clear voice. They were able to declare openly, right in our nation’s capital, that the lifestyle they once embraced was not God’s will for their life or anyone else’s life. They were able to freely stand up and say that they chose Christ and holiness over all of their sins.

There were no hidden agendas. Everyone was accepted. There were so many people from all cultures and nationalities. Everyone was important, no matter what titles they held or didn’t have. The love and respect for each other was so apparent. For a moment, I forgot I was 61 years old and I just blended in with these young motivating marchers.

It was a true honor to be a part of this wonderful event. For this moment, every Christian had a voice. Each person in this march was speaking for so many others. The message was in the songs they sang and the messages they declared.

They spoke for the countless people who were not able to march and could not attend. They spoke for the person struggling with their sexuality. They spoke for the person who is gender disoriented and insecure. They spoke for the cross-dresser and the transgender. They spoke for everyone and anyone who is unsure of themselves and unable to find love and hope. They marched to show that there is hope and there is unconditional love available through our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Freedom March declared to everyone that our God is not dead. He is very much alive in all of us and anyone who will allow Him to come in. No one is refused. No sin is too ugly or vile. Jesus stands with outstretched arms for everyone. (Psalm 136:12). That is true freedom and it is only found in our loving Savior, Jesus Christ.

Publisher’s comment: Why am I publishing Freedom March: 200 Ex-LGBT Come Out? Three reasons. First, God has used my wife and me to lead a lesbian woman to salvation and simultaneously into a normal sexual lifestyle. She later married, rasied children and continues to this day as a faithful follower of Jesus Christ.

Second, Christian people need to stand up and tell the truth, not silently acquiesce, about the fallacies of the homosexual lifestyle.

Third, the world needs to know that people can change. No one needs to be stuck in the sin of homosexuality. If you or anyone you know wants freedom from sex sins, contact Janet Boynes Ministries or this website.

Spirit of God Comes to You at Communion

Spirit of Christ Indwells Communion Elements
Spirit of Christ Indwells Communion Elements

I intend to show from the Scriptures that the Spirit of Christ indwells the communion elements.

As a background, let’s examine briefly the Catholic, Reformed and Lutheran concepts of the Eucharist. I use the terms Communion, Eucharist, Lord’s Table and Lord’s Supper interchangeably.

The Catholic, Reformed and Lutheran Interpretation of Communion

Catholic theology teaches that in each mass Christ is crucified afresh. However, chapters 7-9 of the book of Hebrews state seven times that Christ died once and for all. Catholics also need to reconsider the basic doctrine of transubstantiation (the conversion of the substance of the Eucharistic elements into the body and blood of Christ at consecration, only the appearances of bread and wine still remaining).

At the same time, it seems to me Catholics—especially charismatic Catholics—experience healings and deliverances in Eucharistic services far more frequently than Pentecostals and Evangelicals.

The Reformed tradition teaches that the bread and juice (or wine) merely represent the true body and blood of Christ. This is clearly a Western, rationalistic understanding of communion. It fails to grasp the Biblical, Hebraic and Mid-Eastern mindset. Compared to other communion concepts the representative view of communion lacks the power portrayed in Scripture. For example, in 1 Corinthians 11:30 we see many church people got sick or even died as a result of improper communion. Consequently, Luther was right to reject it.

One aspect of the reformed view that could be seen as positive is this: it is easily grasped by the Western mindset.

Martin Luther viewed the Lord’s Supper as the “Real Presence” of Christ, and denied both the Catholic and Zwinglian theologies. He saw the elements as “vehicles” to bring the “Real Presence” of Christ to the participant.

The Lutheran view realizes at least some of the power of the Biblical concept of Communion. However, it does not explain the “how” or the “why” that the “Real Presence” is in the communion. Ask any Lutheran to explain communion and you will most likely find bewilderment. I spent years in the Lutheran Church and never, not even once, found a clear explanation of Communion.

Proposed Pentecostal Understanding of Holy Communion

Spirits Inhabit People and Other Living Beings

In the Bible, there exist numerous times when spirits, either good or bad, attached themselves to people. Saul, David, the Gadarene demoniac, the twelve disciples of Acts 2 are examples. At least once, demons came upon a herd of hogs, which caused the pigs to rush into the sea and drown.

Spirits Inhabit Physical Objects

That spirits inhabit people and physical objects should never be doubted by students of the Bible or astute observers of modern life.

Let me offer two clear examples.

First, the Ark of the Covenant (1 Sam 5:1-12). The power of the Spirit in the Ark of God proved superior to the power in the Philistine god Dagon. Further, wherever the Ark went among the Philistines, it caused tumors and confusion.

Second, the false prophet gives breath (Gr: pneuma or spirit) to the image [statue] of the beast, that the image of the beast might even speak and cause as many as do not worship the image of the beast to be killed (Rev 13:15).

Look closely at the photo above. You may see what you missed earlier

If you practice deliverance ministry, you have undoubtedly uncovered spirits attached to objects or houses. I have personally cast out spirits from houses and seen not only the house, but also the people living in the house, set free.

How many times have naive people kept a little Buddhist statue on the shelf in their home only to find out it was bringing depression and confusion into their life? Remove the statue and the depression leaves.

Beware! Looks Innocuous but May Cause Harm
Beware! Looks Innocuous but May Cause Harm

I have cast many spirits out of many different people. When the spirits go, depression, sickness, confusion, deception also go. (Obviously, not every symptom can be traced to a spirit. Spirits don’t cause every symptom. There are other causes as well. Let me make that clear.)

The Biblical Basis for the Spirit of Christ Indwelling the Communion Elements of Bread and Wine (or Juice).

A Pentecostal Theology of the Eucharist

From the Garden of Eden onward there exists a connection between food and acts of God. When Eve and Adam bit the apple (or peach, or fig?), humanity was forever changed. God sent a spiritual curse or punishment on Satan, Eve, Adam, the ground, and the entire human race (Gen 3:14-19).

God has always had a significant interest in our food and how it relates to Him.

In fact, the Old Covenant was ratified with food and drink . . . . they saw God, and they ate and drank (Ex 24:11b). What an astounding point of contact with the seventy elders of Israel!

At the first Passover meal, God judged the gods of Egypt. Against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments—I am the LORD (Ex 12:12). The Egyptian gods were false gods, yet powerful enough to control much of Egyptian society.

The Passover Meal (and the Lord’s Table that fulfills it) has untold power for those who eat in faith. The Passover Meal took place just hours before the Exodus from Egypt. Can you imagine the condition of the Israeli people? They were slaves, harassed and whipped by merciless slave masters. Without a doubt, many were sick, weak, or injured. They were laden with the diseases of Egypt. But when they ate the Passover Lamb, remarkable things happened. Psalm 105:37 relates the memorable results of eating the Passover Lamb!

Then He brought them out with silver and gold, And among His tribe there was not one who stumbled (NASV). There was not one feeble person among their tribes. (KJV). (Excerpted from my book Answer for Cancer: 9 Keys).

In the New Testament we find even common everyday food became sanctified by means of the word of God and prayer (1 Tim 4:5). In other words, the food was changed, altered, made holy, because of God’s word and prayer. How much more, the communion elements!

1 Corinthians 10:16-21 specifically addresses the issue of whether or not spirits indwell food. Is not the cup of blessing which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ?

This passage specifically refers to the Lord’s Table of the New Testament church. The cup (of wine or juice) and the loaf of bread had to be blessed [with some sort of thanksgiving or ritual]. Then it became a sharing in the bloody sacrificial death of Christ. The Greek word used is koinonia, which means a sharing, participation, or fellowship in something.

When we partake of the food, we partake of the God who gave the food. For the pagans, there was a demon spirit in the food. Paul said, I do not want you to become sharers in demons (1 Cor 10:20). In contrast, for the Christian communion, there is the Spirit of Christ with the food.

Some reviewers swallow hard (pun intended!) at the thought that either demons or the Spirit of Christ can attach to the food we eat. More than one has pointed to 1 Corinthians 8:4 we know that there is no such thing as an idol in the world, thereby denying the possibility that spirits inhabit foods.

But read on. In the very next verse Paul acknowledges that there are so called gods whether in heaven or on earth; in fact, there are many gods and many lords (1 Cor 8:5).

How could this become any clearer? When the pagans ate food sacrificed to the idol gods, they took into their bodies the demonic spirits of those gods.

When believers imbibe the bread and drink, we take into our bodies the Spirit of Christ that indwells the elements.

Communion a Point of Contact with God

In His great mercy and grace, God has selected many connection points with His children. Some are one-time events. In contrast, communion is an ongoing event until Christ returns.

The most common point of connection is the church service. For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst (Matt 18:20). Other points of connection in Scripture are the Ark of the Covenant, the cloud, handkerchiefs and aprons, hands laid upon a person, Jesus’ robe, tithes and offerings, anointing with oil, even the bones of Elisha and the bronze serpent.

Why is a point of contact with God so important? Because it’s a specific time and place where God interacts with a person or group. A point of contact is a God-ordained time and place where God has chosen to supernaturally act. That’s why there are healings and other supernatural acts at the Lord’s Table.

Dangers of the Pentecostal Theology of Communion (That the Spirit of Christ Indwells the Bread and Juice)

While a Pentecostal understanding of the Eucharist holds the promise of the release of greater connection and power with God, it also poses dangers. I mention two.

The greatest danger is turning the Eucharist or the elements into an idol. This happened with the bronze serpent. Originally, God directed Moses to make the bronze serpent as a remedy for the snake bites (Numbers 21:9). All who gazed at the serpent in faith, God healed. As the years progressed, however, the bronze serpent became an idol and finally had to be destroyed (2 Kings 18:4).

An associated danger with all theologies of communion, not only with the approach that I’m proposing, is that of coming to the altar with wrong attitudes. This includes coming with lack of forgiveness, without love toward people, and without faith to connect with God.

I have written briefly showing instances from Scripture and life where spirits, both good and evil, attach themselves to people and objects. I applied this to the Lord’s Table.

Now I ask for your thoughts. Are you and your church people experiencing the power and presence of Christ in communion? We have always found a little, but only a little, of the magnificence of Christ that He deserves in communion. That is until recently. As I have begun to explore and teach a Pentecostal communion, our church is beginning to come alive at the Lord’s Table due to the Spirit of Christ inhabiting the elements.

Several ministers have reviewed this article. I especially thank Edgar Mendez of Queretaro and Edgar Olvera from Mexico City for their extensive input and corrections. Nevertheless, the contents remain my own and I am solely responsible for the concepts.

May God bless and promote you. Again, please share your thoughts with me. I value your input.

Supernatural Communion Activity

Supernatural Communion Activity

What is God Doing in Your Communion Services? Are you seeing supernatural communion activity?

Supernatural events are occurring in our communion services. Most are small: minor healings, words of comfort and revelation.

That was past. Now we are seeing an uptick in supernatural communion activity.

Paul sent out physical objects from his body that carried the Spirit of God. Those who received the aprons and handkerchiefs received healing and deliverance from demons (Acts 19:11-12).

In a similar way, God is sending out bread and juice (or wine) at the Lord’s Supper. The bread and fruit of the vine are carrying the Spirit of Christ. Those who receive are getting supernatural experiences in our communion services.

I asked people to write what happened to them following our last communion. Here are some unedited responses.

Healings: Headache came and left. No more headache.

Renewal of Health of body, health of mind, health of soul. Sins forgiven.

God comforted me.

“I give you more power in the name of the Lord.”

I felt the Holy Spirit. I felt closer to Him.

A still, small assurance of God’s leading, blessing—doors will open.

I believe there was additional healing to my left leg and foot.

[The Lord spoke] “It’s the beginning” of untangling of nerves, etc. in my feet.

He smiled on me and said He’s happy when I go out.

My feet was feeling better.

What is God doing in the communion services in your church? What are you experiencing in the Lord’s Supper? What is happening at the Church of the Living Water in Muscatine is wonderful. As a fellow minister from town and I read the reports together, we were moved by the presence of God. We both fell on our knees and began thanking God.

If God is stirring supernatural communion activity here, He’s most likely doing it elsewhere. What He’s doing at Living Water Muscatine is probably not isolated. He could very well be doing the same or greater at your church. What is God doing with you at communion?

I’d like to hear. Please share.

The Apple and Bun

The Apple and the Bun–Healing Power in Communion

The Apple and the Bun

God Heals through the Eucharist (Holy Communion).

The apple symbolizes death and separation; the bun symbolizes Life and communion with Christ Jesus.

Can you imagine the condition of the Israelites just before the Exodus? They were slaves, harassed and whipped by merciless slave masters. Without a doubt, many were sick, weak, or injured. They were laden with the diseases of Egypt. Then, in one night, something dramatic, something as momentous as the Exodus itself occurred.

They ate the Passover Lamb.

Psalm 105:37 relates the thrilling result of eating this Lamb, the figure of Christ Jesus:

Then He brought them out with silver and gold, and among His tribes there was not one who stumbled.

The King James Version translates and there was not one feeble person among their tribes.

And all of them were healthy and strong states the Good News Translation.

Oh, the power of the Lamb! The Passover Lamb was for the healing of a nation! Oh, to claim the power of the Passover Feast.

Communion (Lord’s Supper, Last Supper, Eucharist or whatever we choose to call it) is rooted in the Passover. As historic as the Passover is, it is merely the forerunner of the Eucharist. The Lord’s Supper is the fulfillment of the Passover. The Eucharist is the perfection of the Passover and completes it’s purpose and power. If the passover was powerful, the communion is designed to be even more potent.

Look with me at the Lord’s Supper.

The Apple and Bun

Eve (and Adam) ate the apple. The world immediately fell into sin. We call it The Fall. Genesis laments their choice and expulsion.

Christ died on the cross. The world was gloriously lifted out of sin. We call it Redemption. Communion celebrates His death and resurrection.

Adam ate in unbelief; in contrast, Christ tasted death in faith.

Adam bit the apple in disobedience. Christ tasted death in obedience.

Adam’s act in unbelief destined the world to death; Christ’s act in faith destined the world to life for all who believe.

Adam’s lack of trust brought a curse; Christ’s faithfulness issued a never-ending blessing.

Adam’s sin brought condemnation; Christ’s obedience brought the twin free gifts — the abundance of grace and the gift of eternal righteousness (Romans 5:17).

Adam’s act brought separation from God; Christ’s act brought communion with God.

In communion, we eat the bun, the Bread of Life.

Just as Adam’s act of disobedience (eating the apple) brought a certain curse, so Christ’s act of obedience brings certain blessings.

To eat the Bun (the Bread) is to reverse the curse of the apple. Jesus said, This is My body, broken for you. Certain consequences automatically ensued when Adam ate the apple. In a different way, certain results supernaturally pursue those who eat the Bun in faith.

I say, in a different way, because the Bible emphasizes the results of the death of Christ are MUCH MORE in magnitude, in power, and in certainty than the results of the sin of Adam. The death of Christ is NOT like the sin of Adam. The results of the death of Christ and the eating of the loaf (the Bun) are much more certain and powerful.

Supernatural breakouts are automatically designed to emanate from tasting the Bun in faith during this God designed event, the Eucharist.

Power of God at Communion

In her book Miracles Do Happen, Sister Briege McKenna, O.S. C. relates the following story about a mass in a rural area of Latin America.

…I realized the important aspect of the Eucharis is not what I do, but what Jesus does and what I allow Him to do in Me. I must let the loving Jesus heal me and transform me through His body and blood. It is not my effort alone, but His action, that transforms me.

A little boy was brought there who was suffering from very severe burns and sores on his body. I remember thinking, “My goodness, there’s nothing that can be done. It’s so bad. We have no doctors or medicine here.”

We prayed with the little boy, then the priest said to the old woman wo had carried him to the mass, “Just leave him under the table here and let’s continue with the celebration of the Eucharist.”

As the mass progressed, I was overwhelmed at the participation of the people in the mass.

As we approached the consecration, I had my eyes closed. When I opened them I discovered that the people were prostrated on the ground. They lifted up their eyes to adore the Lord. The look on their faces made me think, “They really believe that this is Jesus.” Then when I looked at the sacred Host [at Jesus], in my own imagination, I got the most beautiful image of Jesus with His two hands out. He was smiling with great love and compassion.

After this mass, I went around to see how the little boy was. He had been placed under the table which served as the altar. But he wasn’t there. I said to the woman who had brought him to the mass, “Where is he?” She said, pointing to a group of children playing nearby, “There he is.”

I looked at the child and he was fine. There wasn’t a thing wrong with his little body.

I said aloud, but more to myself, “What happened to him?”

The old woman looked at me and said, “What do you mean, ‘What happened?’ Didn’t Jesus come?”

Here are the points. There are certain, definite results for those who follow the man who tasted the apple in the garden: sin, sickness and death. There are certain, definite results for those who follow the Man who tasted death on the cross: forgiveness, health and eternal life.

According to Romans 5 the latter is much more certain than the former!

Holy Communion (eating the Bun) connects the believer with the crucified and risen Lord Jesus Christ.

What are You Eating — The Apple or the Bun?

The Apple and the Bun.

There’s more to this than a catchy title. Jesus said, “This is My body.” Let’s chew on that awhile.

We have seen spontaneous deliverance and other supernatural manifestations at Holy Communion. I am expecting to see more. At our next communion, let’s expect to meet Christ and experience His manifestation.

What have you seen as a result of the Lord’s Supper? Do me a favor and pass on what God is doing in your church or your own experience of Holy Communion.
